Friday September 30th

Tottenham will play a second consecutive London derby on Saturday October 1st against Charlton.  The match features second versus fourth in the Premiership standings.

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has returned to the squad after recovering from a mild hamstring injury.  Midfielder Michael Carrick is still ruled out with an ankle injury, but is hopeful for a return in time for the Everton match on October 15th.

Canadian fans can watch the game on tape delay on Rogers Sportsnet.  West and Pacific 10:00pm (ET), East and Ontario 11:30pm (ET).

 

Monday September 26th

Tottenham 1 Fulham 0

An 8th minute goal by Tottenham's Jermain Defoe proved to be the decider in the London derby.   

After sealing their third win of the season, Tottenham now sit in fourth place in the Premiership. 

Both Canadian Internationals Tomasz Radzinski and Paul Stalteri played 90 minutes. 

"It was a good win for us, we needed the three points to lift us in the table and we got them tonight.  It was the first competitive game I've played against Tomasz but that didn't change my outlook on what we needed to do" said Paul Stalteri.

Sunday September 25th

Tottenham v Fulham:  Preview

Tottenham host Fulham at White Hart Lane on Monday September 26th. 

It will be the first time that fellow Canadian teammates Paul Stalteri and Tomasz Radzinski meet in competitive action.  Both teams are located in London and the Canadians keep in contact quite regularly.   

Tottenham coach Martin Jol is without Michael Carrick and Anthony Gardner, but should be lifted by the possibility of having Edgar Davids, Teemu Tiano and Michael Dawson back in his squad.  Mido will be available after serving his three game suspension.

Kick off is at 20.00.  Canadian fans can watch the game live on Fox Sports World Canada (15.00 ET).

Tuesday September 20th

An 89th minute goal by Grimsby's Jean-Paul Kamudimba Kalala has put an early end to the Carling Cup for Tottenham.  It is certainly an upset for Tottenham as they were certainly expected to be victorious against the League Two side.

Tuesday September 20th

Carling Cup Preview:  Grimsby v Tottenham

Tottenham are away to Grimsby in the second round of the Carling Cup.  Kick off is at 19:45 tonight at Blundell Park.  Grimsby is currently in first place in League Two standings.

Martin Jol will be without Anthony Gardner as he picked up an injury that will keep him sidelined for approximately two months.  Edgar Davids (groin) and Michael Dawson (hamstring) are both doubtful and Mido will serve his last match of a three match ban after picking up a red card against Chelsea.

Grimsby manager Russel Slade has a full squad for the match tonight.

Saturday September 17th

Aston Villa 1 Tottenham 1

Tottenham came away with one point from Villa Park.  After conceding an early goal in the 4th minute, Tottenham were down for a majority of the game.  Substitute Robbie Keane came on in the 67th minute and scored the equalizer in the 78th minute.

Aston Villa keeper Sorensen saved a 27th minute penalty from Jermain Defoe to keep Aston Villa in the lead. 

Aston Villa were dominant in the opening 45 minutes, but Tottenham fought back in the second half.  The game could have gone either way with both teams hitting the crossbar.     

Paul Stalteri played 90 minutes.

Friday September 16th

Aston Villa v Tottenham Preview

Tottenham are away to Aston Villa on Saturday September 17th.  Kick off is at 17:15 at Villa Park. 

Martin Jol may be without Edgar Davids, but will have to make a final last minute decision before the match.  Michael Dawson is certainly unavailable after he came away from training on Thursday with a hamstring problem.

The match will be televised for Canadian fans on Rogers Sportsnet at 12:30 ET (15 minute tape delay).

 

Thursday September 15th

Stalteri accepts position as Honorary Chairman at Spurs Canada

I am delighted to accept the position of Honorary Chairman at Spurs Canada.  It is an honour to be part of a terrific organization such as Totteham Hotspur FC and I look forward in helping bring Spurs Canada closer to London.  It is an exciting time for THFC and I thank all the Canadian fans for their support.

Saturday September 10th

Tottenham 0 Liverpool 0

Tottenham were held to a goalless draw at White Hart Lane by Liverpool.

Newcomers Jermaine Jenas, Lee Young-Pyo and Grzegorz Rasiak all started for Tottenham.  Ledley King also saw a return to the starting line up after returning from his injury. 

Tottenham newcomer Rasiak almost had a dream debut.  He hit the crossbar just minutes before the half and scored a goal off a corner that was disallowed. 

Paul Stalteri played 90 minutes.

Friday September 9th

Tottenham v Liverpool Preview

Tottenham host Liverpool at White Hart Lane in the second consecutive home game for the Spurs.  Following the international break, Tottenham look to put the August 27th defeat to Chelsea behind them.

New signings Jermaine Jenas, Lee Young-Pyo and Grzegorz Rasiak have all been named to the squad by coach Martin Jol.  Ledley King will also return to the squad after regaining his fitness following a groin injury.
