Lyon

Werder Bremen

Preview

After a very disappointing home loss of 0-3 to Lyon, Werder Bremen face a very difficult second leg match on Tuesday March 8th.  Lyon is a very strong side when on their home soil and therefore Werder have a difficult task at hand.  They cannot concede any goals, and require three goals to force the game into extra time.

Both teams are coming off of losses in their domestic leagues.  Werder with a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich and Lyon with a 1-0 loss to Caen.  Lyon are still in first place in Ligue 1 with an eight point lead.

Coach Thomas Schaaf is happy to add Ivan Klasnic to his 18-man squad. Klasnic is fit again and may be deployed upfront to assist Werder's attack.

Werder will be travelling with the following 18-man squad:  Reinke, Walke, Ismael, Stalteri, Pasanen, Fahrenhorst, Schulz, Davala, Baumann, Magnin, Ernst, Jensen, Micoud, Borowski, Klose, Valdez, Hunt, Klasnic.
